MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Cherry Blossom Festival is saluting veterans with a Veterans Day Parade set for this Sunday, November 5, at 3 p.m. in downtown Macon.

The parade, which will feature a spectacular F-15 Flyover from Robins Air Force Base, will honor local hometown heroes with patriotic-themed floats, military units and marching bands.

According to a festival Facebook post, attendees should note a new parade route.

“The NEW route for the Veterans Day Parade begins at MLK Jr. Blvd. and Cherry St., then turns right onto Second St. and ends on Mulberry St. This is different than the Cherry Blossom Parade,” the post stated.

Patricia Ross, the Commissioner of Georgia Department of Veterans Services, will serve as the Grand Marshal.

The event is free and open to the public.
