DAVISBORO, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One man is behind bars and another suspect has been issued warrants in connection with a drone drop at Washington State Prison.

Washington County deputies say they were alerted to the drop on December 6 around 12:30 a.m. After arriving on scene, they stopped the driver of a suspicious vehicle around Highway 231 and South Sparta Davisboro Road.

Deputies say they confirmed contraband was dropped at the prison before the traffic stop. It was later found by the Georgia Department of Corrections.

As a result of the stop, Hikal Abdulrahman was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, items prohibited by inmates, and crossing guard lines with weapons or drugs.

“It’s essential that we remain vigilant, and we encourage residents to report any suspicious activity in and around the prison grounds. Your cooperation is invaluable in helping us maintain a secure environment for everyone,” Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran said. “The Washington County Sheriff’s Office fosters transparency and communication with our community. We appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we work together to uphold the principles of safety, justice, and integrity.”
