Gun found inside Bibb County Jail

After a search, law enforcement found a gun hidden inside a wall mounted telephone in an inmate dayroom.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a firearm was found inside the Bibb County Jail.

A release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says it received an anonymous tip of a firearm inside one of the cell block areas of the jail.

After a search, law enforcement found a gun hidden inside a wall mounted telephone in an inmate dayroom.

The investigation is currently ongoing.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says more information will be released once the investigation is complete.
