Church to host major giveaway this weekend for families in need

"We want to make sure that we get resources in the hands of people before Christmas."

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Middle Georgia church is doing its part to help families ahead of the holiday season.

Community Church of God on Bethesda Avenue in Macon, IS giving away heaters, humidifiers, bicycles, toys, books, air fryers, and other kitchen appliances on Saturday.

“We want to make sure that we get resources in the hands of people before Christmas,” said Pastor Jason McClendon.

Pastor McClendon hopes filling the needs through a giveaway will keep theft down. He also says the church has hosted giveaways like this in the past, even serving as a Covid-19 testing site.

The giveaway starts at 10 a.m. All you have to do is show up.
