Major crash on I-16 Westbound causes traffic gridlock, multiple injuries reported

TWIGGS COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A multiple vehicle crash around on I-16 Westbound near Sgoda Road (MP10) has brought traffic to a standstill.

A Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) GA Alert reports the crash involved five vehicles, including an overturned tractor-trailer and a Jeep, both of which were engulfed in flames.

Twelve people were injured, according to GDOT. Three of them were transported to the hospital. Nine others declined medical assistance.

All westbound traffic is being diverted at Sgoda Road (Exit 12) and SR 96 (Exit 24).
