Johnson County linebacker on the verge of breaking one of Herschel Walker’s records

Johnson County will face Washington-Wilkes in the first round of the GHSA A Division II Football State Playoffs in the End Zone Game of the Week.

WRIGHTSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –As Johnson County looks forward to taking on Washington-Wilkes in the first round of the GHSA A Division II Football State Playoffs, linebacker Joshua Taylor is preparing to break one of Trojan and UGA Bulldog legend Herschel Walker’s records.

Taylor was named an All-State linebacker in 2022 and is now aiming to become the all-time leading tackler for the Johnson County football program.

“I just wanted to feel like I have a place on the field, so I try to put in the time and effort. Always jogging off of the field. Always hustling, even when people don’t tell you to,” said Taylor. “To me, I just feel like hard work pays off, so when you get on the field, you can play the best you possibly can. So if I can get that, that just means all my hard word paid off.”

Taylor has the opportunity to break the all-time tackle record, ironically on Herschel Walker Field, as the Trojans take on Washington-Wilkes at 7:30 p.m. in the End Zone Game of the Week.
