MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –The final week of the high school football regular season is crucial for playoff position, and several teams battled it out on Thursday night.

Jones County defeated Union Grove 41-7 and has secured the 2-seed in the GHSA 5A State Playoffs.

Southwest defeated Central 37-0 and has secured the 3-seed in the GHSA 3A State Playoffs, while Central’s season comes to an end.

GMC defeated Twiggs County 35-12 and needs Hancock Central to lose their final game of the season to clinch a spot in the GHSA A Division II State Playoffs.

Macon County defeated Marion County 49-20 and is locked in as the 3-seed in the GHSA A Division II State Playoffs.
