DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In an effort to address the healthcare needs of female veterans, the Dublin VA Medical Center is set to host a Women Veterans Public Health Forum and Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) claims clinic on Thursday, December 7.

The event, set to begin at 4:30 p.m. in the medical center’s auditorium (on the second floor of Building 2), aims to raise awareness of the various programs and services available to women veterans.

The claims clinic, which starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 6:30 p.m., will be available by appointment only. This session is part of the VA’s efforts to cater to the unique health care needs of female veterans, a demographic that represents the fastest-growing group within the Dublin VA’s service area, according to the Dublin VA.

“A big part of assisting our women veterans with their needs is making sure that they know about the many programs and services that VA offers,” VA Women’s Health Community Outreach Coordinator Marla Roche said. “We will be doing these events regularly around Middle and South Georgia to get the word out.”

The forum will feature speakers and other informational materials. VBA staff will assist veterans in filing claims for disability, including those covered under the 2022 PACT Act.

“Our programs and services are continually expanding as the needs of our female veterans change,” Debbie Mullis, the manager of the Women’s Health Clinic, said.
