UPDATE: Dublin man arrested in connection with homicide

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested 43-year-old Kenneth Jurell Kates of Dublin in connection with Tyronda Hall's death.

UPDATE (11/16): The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested 43-year-old Kenneth Jurell Kates of Dublin in connection with Tyronda Hall’s death.

Kates is charged with murder.

The GBI says he was taken into custody on Monday, November 13, following the Dublin Police Department’s request for GBI assistance in the investigation.

On November 9, Dublin Police responded to a homicide report at an apartment on Kingsby Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Hall dead with a gunshot wound. The investigation revealed Kates, who was the tenant of the apartment, and Hall were neighbors and acquaintances.

The case is set to be prosecuted by the Dublin District Attorney’s Office. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. UPDATE (11/10): The Laurens County coroner identified the victim of Thursday’s shooting as Tyronda Hall.

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Dublin Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on Kingsby Street.

That’s according to a news release, which said investigators are currently on the scene.

The released added that the investigation has been turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
