CRAWFORD COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman will spend the rest of her life behind bars for killing a man in 2020.

22-year-old Cheylana White was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty before her trial on December 4.

White pleaded guilty to the shooting death of 52-year-old Daniel Jones in his home.

Investigators say White took Jones’ vehicle, cell phones and a firearm after the shooting, which she later abandoned in the stolen vehicle.  They were able to track her down from cell phone data and witness statements. They also discovered the victim’s blood on White’s shoes.

“I pray the Defendant’s admission of her acts can bring a measure of justice and closure for this grieving family.  This senseless killing has had a major impact on this peaceful Crawford County community, and the Holiday Season makes these actions even more painful for everyone,” Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney Anita Howard said.
