Macon State Prison inmate dead after altercation

OGLETHORPE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon State Prison inmate is dead after a fight with his roommate.

According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, Taurean Hardy died on Sunday, December 10, after an altercation with his roomate Joshua Marchman.

Hardy was serving a 15-year sentence for Armed Robbery out of Glynn County with a maximum release date of March 2029. Marchman was serving Life Without Parole for Murder out of Cobb County.

GDC says Hardy’s body was turned over to the county coroner, and will be taken to the GBI crime lab to determine the official cause of death.

The death is being investigated by the GDC’s Office of Professional Standards. They say additional details are not available, as the investigation is ongoing.
